A Greek meal isn’t finished until something sweet hits the table. Here are the desserts we’d tell you to save room for.
Loukoumades
Little fried dough puffs, crisp outside and airy inside, drowned in honey syrup and cinnamon. Greece’s answer to the doughnut — best eaten warm, ideally shared.
Ekmek kataifi
Layers of crunchy shredded pastry, thick custard and whipped cream over a syrup-soaked base. Rich, cool and ridiculously good with coffee.
Baklava
The classic: flaky phyllo, chopped nuts and honey in tidy diamonds. A small piece is plenty — and exactly right.
Pair any of them with a Greek coffee and you’ve got the perfect ending. You earned it.
